Welcome to the submission page for TRIBUTES: HR GIGER
This is the
call for entries for a book full of work from artists who admire the creations of
HR Giger. We work together with the
HR Giger Estate to bring you an experience that is true to the spirit of Hans and will give additional insight into his life through anecdotes from those who called him a friend and worked with him for many years. In this publication, we are
not striving to highlight the movies he has worked on but we instead want to
focus on the body of work he created and how it has influenced artists around the world, be it through the exploration of a new medium or simply the groundbreaking style that has become his distinctive signature.
We all know the
tribute albums where bands perform songs of iconic artists to show how much they respect them.
Imagine this book as the same thing, but with art. The book will be as much curated as it will accept artwork that is simply outstanding and the list of artists participating in it is constantly growing, with names such as Pascal Blanché, Andrea Chiampo, Jasmin Louise Darnell, Adi Granov, Björn Hurri, Alex Konstad, Bastien Lecouffe Deharme, Nekro, Peter 'Apterus' Polach, Maarten Verhoeven and including conversations with bands who admired HR Giger and his contribution to the visual side of the music industry. The
Tributes series will be continued with other big influences to artists, like Frank Frazetta and H.P. Lovecraft
If you would like to contribute, please read the following points thoroughly and make sure to fill out as much info as you have before you use the upload tool at the bottom of the page. The book will launch through a crowdfunding campaign in 2025.

The book has been postponed to early 2025
Whoever is saying that the book is not happening is ill-informed. It is simply not happening this year and will be campaigned in 2025. If you see a post or a message somewhere claiming we canceled the book, please comment or inform them that this is false. We are adding loads of content right now and we have new judges added. On top of it, one of my partners is dealing with a very tough situation right now and I don't mean to put even more stress on them. Please understand that any such claims hurt the project. And if you are impatient about the release and want to withdraw your art, that's totally fine and understandable. Just let me know and it is done.
Do not!
- Please do not send us artwork based on movies, games, or other IPs that Giger has worked on. This is not a tribute to Alien, Species, or other projects, but about HR Giger's personal body of work and influence. To be clear, we do not include artwork showing Ridley Scott's Alien or Species and other copyrighted works from movies HR Giger worked on.
- Please do not send us artwork that is a copy of Giger's work
- Don’t join this book if your personal views as a person and artist marginalize other fellow humans. We have no space for homophobes, sexists, racists, xenophobes, or any kind of prejudiced individuals and their bigoted ideas.
- Please don’t send us artwork that has been published anywhere. It can be old work but then still it has to be unseen material. If the contrary is found out along the way, it will be pulled from the publication. If you want to post about your contribution on social media, do not share it unless it is cropped to only show 25% of it as a preview. We believe that prior to the publication the content should be exclusive and whatever is fully shared before, will be curated by the book's creators for promotion.
- Absolutely no AI work is allowed in the book!
